Broom-finished driveways
A straightforward textured surface for daily parking. Choose the width, turning space and edge details around the vehicles that will use it.
Driveway replacement can include a 6-inch reinforced slab and a 3,500–4,000 PSI mix for heavier residential use. Standard passenger-car driveways may use thinner slabs when the design allows. Vehicle weights, ground support and Lakeland’s driveway apron requirements determine the final specification. Broom finishes, decorative borders and resurfacing of sound existing concrete offer different ways to update the entrance.
Your driveway needs to handle daily parking and summer downpours. For Lakeland properties, we review the garage level, street connection and water route before setting the layout. Any apron work is coordinated with the responsible road authority.
A driveway can direct water toward a garage if its elevations are wrong. Review the full route from the door to the street, including the apron and nearby planting beds. Work near the public right-of-way needs the responsible authority and approval process identified.
Lakeland processes driveway applications through Building Inspection, with inspections by Public Works Engineering. Confirm the street connection, drainage and any right-of-way permit before work begins. An address outside city limits can fall under a different authority.
Consider a new layout when parking or turning space no longer works. For widespread damage or recurring movement, compare replacement with a repair assessment before choosing a decorative finish.
Set the usable width, turning clearances and garage transition.
Define removal, excavation, base preparation and any specified reinforcement.
Coordinate joints and texture, then keep traffic off for the project-specific curing period.
Driveway size, removal, access, thickness, reinforcement and the chosen finish affect the quote. An extension also needs a clear old-to-new connection. Compare written scopes rather than a square-foot figure alone.

Often an extension can be considered, but space, setbacks, drainage and the street connection need review. Tell us how many vehicles you want to accommodate.
No. A surface overlay cannot restore missing ground support. Settlement needs assessment before choosing repair or replacement.
Wait at least 7 days before driving on a standard new concrete driveway. Allow 48 to 72 hours for light foot traffic. The mix, weather and vehicle loads may require longer; follow the contractor's written instructions.
The work area, preparation, selected materials or finish, exclusions and return-to-use instructions should be clear. Ask who is responsible for any applicable approvals and inspections.
